Dame June Whitfield, famous for her roles in Terry And June, Absolutely Fabulous and Take It From Here, passed off peacefully Friday night at home at the era of 93 and survived by girl Suzy, confirmed her representative.
Born in 1925 in Streatham, June starred in 12 BBC Radio 4 Agatha Christie adaptations between 1993 and 2001 as Miss Marple.
Following the passing of her husband lived on her own for ten years in a big home. Last year she transferred into a care home.
She was married in 1955 into Tim Aitchison.
She then said, “Now I have friends where I live and I like it. They’re fun… I don’t have to worry about things like the roof or the plumber any more.”
In among her current intreviews June said a lot of sex and swearing in are located in contemporary television and this is the motive she don’t watch TV these days.
June said, “Everything, every channel, it’s either some sex scene or a killing of some kind.”
She added that there is not any comedy in now ’s TV and you actually don’t have a fantastic laugh.
The fabulous celebrity starred in Doctor Who as Minnie Hooper for David Tennant’s final episode The End of Time in 2009. Between 2015 and 2016 she acted in EastEnders, found only in a brief role.
BBC manufacturer Jon Plowman tweeted, “Very sad at the news of the death of the wonderful June Whitfield.”
Patsy actress Joanna Lumley said she is heartbroken to lose June and she will never forget her.
